This sign is an official one, erected by Council staff. The problem is, it’s been installed without regard for the local Plan of Management. As we’ve demonstrated in recent years with the Station Beach example, these signs seem to go up in a one-step process (where a staffer is making a decision that is not his to make), but when it comes to removing/modifying that sign, it can be a 24-step process that can run for over 10 years. Embarrassing, but true.
These signs are initiated and cheered for by folk who readily dismiss the needs of families with dogs. So we are finally standing up for ourselves and getting rid of them. Here’s a list of the unauthorised “Dogs Prohibited” signs we’ve had removed or altered so far (with promise of more to come):
